I work as an Admin Assistant at a prominent church in our city. The current pastor has asked the membership to approve a substantial early retirement package so he can leave as Jan 1. There is much discension and uproar within this church as some have wanted him to leave. Pray that somehow God will take this chapter and make this church bigger and better than before. We need his guidance and help to keep this church together, as well as our jobs. 23 July 2008 10:49am |

Sherry For my ministers wife Gwen,She has canser |
|
Dan sends this message about Gwen's latest tests: "The tumors did not grow this time, but they did not shrink. The doctor was happy about this. The results said she probably had another tumor but he wants to wait until after the next test in two months to make sure before he makes a decision. He was happy they didn't grow so he could leave her on her current chemo medicine for this treatment and one more. She will have a CAT scan and a Muga gram in Sept. She has been extra tired and had trouble breathing and he said it is because her red count is low. The problem is that it is not low enough for the insurance to pay for treatment of that. He said he would like to take those who made the decision of the level of treatment and bring them down to where Gwen is. He said it is like Gwen is out jogging at 12,000 feet. Yet the problem with that is if you aren't on chemo you can adjust but if you are on chemo you can't adjust. One end of the red blood must be 10 and below before treatment and hers is 10.6. The other end is supposed to be 30 and below and hers is 32. He said she would be more tired this month and have more breathing problems and by next month he will be able to help with this. She also want to have physical therapy on her knee since she is having a hard time bending her knee and he wants her to do that but before she does he want her to see the ortho doctor to make sure nothing has come loose from the pins and screws. So she will set up an appointment for that. We feel this is good news because again it is at bay except for the possible new tumor. We love you all and thank you for your continued prayers. You are our strength and encouragement because we know the Father hears you.

Sparkyofhd July 23 SparkysHeart -- PROVERBS 26-29 |
|
July 23 SparkysHeart -- PROVERBS 26-29 Sparky's Prayer: Help us Lord God, to stay free by confessing our sins and renouncing {surrendering} them and to stay true to You. Help us to never take advantage of those who are down and out, but help them take a stand for You and to be able to trust our friends with our lives. Help us never to be in bondage, but to walk in freedom trusting You. Help us to walk the walk and talk the talk in Jesus’ mighty saving name and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 -- Coming Reunion PAUL'S PRAYER: Dear Father God, Comforter of the bereaved: On the death of our dear loved ones in Christ, help us to comfort one another with thoughts of a glorious reunion. Help us not grieve as those who have no hope. Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, You will bring with You at Your coming those who have fallen asleep. We place our trust in You for ourselves, too, for we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep, but will share in their rapturous blessing. In Jesus’ mighty saving name and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
VERSE: "Prepare chains, because the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of violence." Ezekiel 7:23 (NIV) THOUGHT: God hates it when the innocent are afflicted with violence and bloodshed. He hates evil and political corruption. He hates courts that are false and leaders who are abusive of their power. We need to rest assured that He will provide deliverance for His faithful followers and administer justice to those who have abused or harmed other people -- if not in this life, for sure in the life to come. PRAYER: Father God, thank You for assuring us that Your justice will ultimately be done with those who are violent, corrupt, wicked, and abusive. Give us patience to wait in hope until that day of ultimate justice is done. In Jesus' mighty saving name we pray. Amen.
WHAT JESUS DID! -- What's Inside! Matthew 15:15-20 (NLT) Then Peter asked Jesus, "Explain what you meant when you said people aren't defiled by what they eat." "Don't you understand?" Jesus asked him. "Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes out of the body. But evil words come from an evil heart and defile the person who says them. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all other sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands could never defile you and make you unacceptable to God!" WJD THOUGHT: Jesus had to remind His disciples of this repeatedly -- it's what's inside your heart that counts most. This is not because the interior world of heart is isolated from actions -- we can think something nice, feel something nice, and let feelings and thoughts take the place of actions. No, it's precisely because the interior world always has a way of revealing itself in behaviors that we must keep our hearts pure. Jesus is after right actions, good deeds, decent behaviors, and honorable character. But these things are ultimately and consistently reproducible because we keep our heart pure and are committed to honor God in the way we live. WJD PRAYER: O Lord God, Almighty Creator and Sustainer, why You choose to love us with Your grace is a great mystery to us. You know our thoughts. You know our motives. While we are working on making those areas of our lives more holy, we recognize that we need the cleansing and power of Your Holy Spirit in the inner most places of our existence. Cleanse our hearts and conform our thoughts to Your will. In Jesus' saving name we pray. Amen. 23 July 2008 00:50am |

Sparkyofhd Daily Guide to Miracles from Oral Roberts Ministries |

Daily Guide to Miracles from Oral Roberts Ministries A Rhythm of Sowing — by Richard Roberts The apostle Paul, writing to the Philippian church, said, “Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.” Philippians 4:15-16 (NKJV) The inference in the original Greek version is that the Philippians gave to Paul's ministry "again and again and again." In other words, they got into a rhythm of sowing their seeds to God. And Paul went on to say that as a result, “this same God Who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19 (NLT) Because of the seeds the Philippian Christians sowed again and again, God said He would meet them at the point of their need. Why is this important? Because no doubt you have a need today. Everyone has needs. It may be something spiritual, physical, or financial. Maybe it's a need in your marriage or your job. God is saying that you can plant a seed against that need and then believe Him to use it for His glory and multiply it back to you in the form of your need. The little church in Philippi got into a rhythm of sowing again and again into Paul's ministry, and things began to happen in the supernatural realm. When you get into the rhythm of sowing your seeds in faith to God, He can bring you a miracle harvest in the area you need it most! My Declaration of Faith for Today: As I attach my faith to the seeds I sow, they are multiplied back to me in the form of my own hopes, dreams, and personal needs. Remember, "Something GOOD is going to happen to you!" Prayer (AT) orm.cc Visit the Make Your Day Count web site:
Just Stories 2 Peter 1:16 - We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eye-witnesses of his majesty. (NIV) I love making up stories, especially for the children of our church on Sunday mornings. I started telling stories for my brothers late at night when we were kids. Three of us shared the same bedroom, and each of us dealt with my mother's insanity in different ways. At nighttime, sleep never came easily for any of us, so I would tell stories to my younger brothers, and eventually, they would sleep peacefully. I can't really remember what any of those stories were about -- it all took place about forty years ago -- but those storytelling skills have stayed with me, which is why I enjoy giving the children's sermon during worship. Some people believe that the Gospels are just made up and have become stories that people must accept or they will experience the Church's wrath. Eckhart Tolle in his book, "A New Earth", makes such a complaint. He writes about the Bible being a collection of stories with morals within them that are imposed upon the readers or hearers. What he is trying to do is to undermine the value of the Bible and diminish the faith of Christians. Peter, in his second letter, faced similar opposition, which is why he reminds his readers that the events he relates about Jesus were not just stories, but eye-witness accounts of what actually happened. Peter insists that he was there when Christ was transfigured. It is not a magical story that is meant to charm the listener; it is an actual reporting of what truly happened. Tolle may wish that the Gospels were mere stories so that he can pursue his own misguided philosophy. Peter, however, was willing to die for what he knew to be true, so for me, his testimony has more authenticity than anything Tolle can make up. The question for all of us today is this: are the Gospels mere morality tales to help us through life, or are they God's truth to lead us to eternal life? We come in agreement with John’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, Your life is so different from all others, and Your messages are meant to challenge our lives and change our ways. Some voices in the world would have us believe that Your teaching, Your existence, and Your purposes are just mere myths. Help us to hold fast to Your ways, and keep us from falling into the temptations of unbelief. In Jesus’ mighty saving and holy name, we pray. Amen. WHAT JESUS DID! -- You are most religious or very reverent to demons. Acts 17:20-22 For you set forth some startling things, foreign and strange to our ears; we wish to know therefore just what these things mean -- [21] For the Athenians, all of them, and the foreign residents and visitors among them spent all their leisure time in nothing except telling or hearing something newer than the last -- [22] So Paul, standing in the center of the Areopagus [Mars Hill meeting place], said: Men of Athens, I perceive in every way [on every hand and with every turn I make] that you are most religious or very reverent to demons.

Dear Lord and any dear soul who is kind enough to help pray for our family please do, for you give to the lord and others, it will be returned to you sevenfold. My Husband is not working and we have serious debt piling up. I have not even been able to afford to buy groceries this month. We have only been privided with plentiful food by my mother and father who are very helpful giving people, but I do not wish to rely on others any longer, I have to turn to the lord and my faith in him to help us through this difficult time. Also, Please help my husband understand that he needs to get areal job, with a steady paycheck, and that he has to keep a regular job for us to survive. I do not think that he fully understands what his responsibilities are as a provider for our family, lord please help him with htis in any way that you can. Get him Motivated! I realize that my prayers are many but I have to lay it all on the table. I have a good job lord, but it is sooo far away from our home that the travel time & fuel costs are wearing me down. I have applied for a great job that is only 10 minutes from our house and It is the opportunity that I have been looking for! I will be able to spend more time with my family, save money, and have great job security with a retirement fund. This job is the answer to my dreams. Dear heavenly father, I know that I have neglected our relationship, but I will do better and make the time to converse with you I need your halp, and compassion dearly for the survival of our new family and my sanity. Sparkyofhd July 22 SparkysHeart – PROVERBS 23-25 |

July 22 SparkysHeart – PROVERBS 23-25 Sparky's Prayer: Help us Lord God, to remember that our failure is not permanent. Thank You Lord that we can raise again because of Your love. Thank You Lord that You are a God of a second chance and sometimes the third and fourth and more You never keep count of the chances You have given us. Help us never to count the chances we give others. Help us to pick ourselves up after we've been knock down and help us to pick others up. In the mighty saving name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 -- God's Will: Perfect Love PAUL'S PRAYER: Dear Father God, Perfector of our love: Don't ever let us disregard You or Your Holy Spirit, which You give us. Give us perfect love for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let this teaching of Yours fill our minds. Let this love among us grow more and more, every day and in every way. Help us to aspire to live quietly, to mind our own affairs, and to work with our hands or our minds, so that we will be dependent on no one and command the respect of those outside Your family. Help that respect lead them to listen, to heed, and also to become Your children. In Jesus’ mighty saving name and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
VERSE: "How great You are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like You, and there is no God but You, as we have heard with our own ears." ~ 2 Samuel 7:22 (NIV) THOUGHT: The promises of God to Abraham and David, the work of God through Jesus, and the miraculous preservation of both the Abrahamic and Davidic lines to Jesus are nothing short of miraculous. They are testimony to God's faithfulness and power. When we get discouraged by the unfaithfulness and blasphemy so prevalent in our world, we need to remember the faithfulness of our God and His awesome power displayed through His chosen people. PRAYER: Father of all and Provider and Protector of Your people, please give us a sense of courageous awe at Your power and a sense of reverential wonder at Your faithfulness. There is no other being or power like You, for You alone are God. We praise You for Your glory and grace. In Jesus' mighty saving name we pray and praise You. Amen.
WHAT JESUS DID! -- Miss the Ditch! Matthew 15:12-14 (NLT) Then the disciples came to Him and asked, "Do you realize You offended the Pharisees by what You just said?" Jesus replied, "Every plant not planted by My heavenly Father will be rooted up, so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch." WJD THOUGHT: The powerful implication of Jesus' words for His disciples is immense. The Pharisees were regarded as the most righteous of all people in Jesus' day. They believed in resurrection and rewards from God for those who adopted their form of righteousness. Because of their reputation and power, the disciples were worried that Jesus would alienate them. But Jesus' words remind of one essential truth: If it is not from God, it won't last! In fact, if it pretends to be from God, but isn't, it will lead to disaster. In a world of political correctness, multi-culturalism, and pluralism, it is easy to confuse respect for the people of a culture with an acceptance of that cultures religious truth. In Matthew, Jesus demands that we come to Him for truth and reject ANY religion that promotes formalism, ritualism, or externalism at the expense of inner purity and true transformation from God. WJD PRAYER: Righteous and holy Father God, please help us discern false religions and false teachers, no matter how popular or powerful. We want to have a pure heart, transformed by Your grace and obedient to Your will. Forgive us of our sins and create in us a pure heart, humble and obedient to Your will. Please help us exhibit this purity in our speech, our attitude, our thoughts, our motives, and our behaviors. In Jesus’ mighty saving name and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 20 THE POWER THAT COMPELS COMES FROM THE SPIRIT WHO INDWELLS US. THE MEASURE OF YOUR USEFULNESS IS THE MEASURE OF YOUR FAITHFULNESS. WE EXPECT GREAT THINGS FROM THE CHILD OF GOD THAT GOES ABOUT TENDING TO THE BUSINESS HE WAS CALLED TO DO. ~ Richard DeHaan PARIS ~ GRACENTHETRUTH (AT) COX.NET
WHAT JESUS DID! -- Paul reasoned and argued in the synagogue Acts 17:17-19 So he reasoned and argued in the synagogue with the Jews and those who worshiped there, and in the marketplace [where assemblies are held] day after day with any who chanced to be there. [18] And some also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him and began to engage in discussion. And some said, What is this babbler with his scrap-heap learning trying to say? Others said, He seems to be an announcer of foreign deities--because he preached Jesus and the resurrection. [19] And they took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus [Mars Hill meeting place], saying, Help us to know what this novel (unheard of and unprecedented) teaching is which you are openly declaring? 22 July 2008 00:47am |

Sparkyofhd Daily Guide to Miracles from Oral Roberts Ministries |

Daily Guide to Miracles from Oral Roberts Ministries Your Very Best Friend — by Lindsay Roberts When my nephew was six years old, he walked into the kitchen one day, just chattering away. His mom wasn't paying close attention to what he was saying until he offered "Dave" something to eat. "Who's Dave?" his mom asked, not seeing anyone else in the kitchen but her son. "Oh, he's just the guy I play with," he said of his imaginary friend. "Have you ever played with him before?" she asked. "No," my nephew answered. "Usually I play with Jesus, but He's too busy." Intrigued, his mom asked, "Oh? What's He doing?" "Mom, you know what Jesus does!" he said. "He's out doing those miracles and such!" You know, we could all take a lesson from my little nephew. He usually plays by himself because he has little siblings, so he asks Jesus to play with him. What if we thought of Jesus as our favorite friend? What if we invited Him into our homes, our marriages, our families, our businesses? What if we expected Him to enter into our lives in the most personal way and do miracles because we knew that is what "He's out doing" all the time? Wonderful changes could happen in our lives if we cultivated that kind of relationship with Him. If you don't know Jesus as your best friend, all you have to do is open the door of your heart and invite Him to come in. He says, “I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.” Revelation 3:20 (AMP) Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24) My Declaration of Faith for Today: Lord, what a wonderful thing it is to know You as my very best friend! Remember, "Something GOOD is going to happen to you!" Prayer (AT) orm.cc Visit the Make Your Day Count web site:
Tending The Grass Genesis 2:15 - The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (NIV) In the spring, our neighbourhood was busy with people working on their lawns after a long winter. People were out raking, seeding, replacing sections with rolls of sod, and cutting their grass. In the early spring, we did not have a lot of rain, and to me, it seemed like the lawn was taking awhile to green up and come alive. After two days of rain, though, the lawn turned green and lush, and I didn't have to do a thing to it. The rain did it all for me! Colossians 2:6-7 - So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (NIV) Our Christian walk is a lot like a lawn. The Word of God is like the seed that starts and nurtures our growth in Christ. God is like the gardener who lavishes a lot of TLC (tender loving care) on us and alerts us to the weeds, the trials and temptations, that threaten to choke out our new life in Christ. As we mature, our spiritual roots grow deeper and stronger in Him, and the weeds of temptation become easier to recognize and get rid of. When the bugs of trials and tribulations attack our roots in Christ and threaten to stunt or even kill our spiritual growth, we can strengthen them by applying more of the fertilizer of God's Word. Psalm 72:6-7 - He will be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. In his days the righteous will flourish. (NIV) Under the pressures and stresses of the hot summer of life, like a lawn, our spiritual life may at times go dormant and seem like it is dead, not appearing to grow at all. Then in the Lord's mercy, a precious rain of revival may fall, and like the grass, our relationship with the Lord seems to awake overnight, as it takes in the nourishment from the rain. When we need an infusion from the Lord, He waits patiently for us to call to Him, and He is never late. His timing is perfect. We come in agreement with Julie’s Prayer: Dear Father in the name of Jesus, we thank You for all that You did on the cross for us. We didn't deserve the price that You paid. We recognize that our salvation was not of our doing, but rather by Your love, grace, and mercy, it is given to us. Lord, help us to drink in the gentle rains that You send down on us, and help us to remain strong in You through the storms. Help us to also be a people who bring life to others in the garden who do not know Your love and mercy. In Jesus' mighty saving name, we pray. Amen.
